Co-Create: A Regional Participatory Placemaking Exchange

Join the Exchange.

Welcome to Co-Create, a fresh, high-energy Creu Lleoedd Cymru Placemaking Wales and DCFW event series designed to break down professional silos across the built environment in four Welsh regions.

Too often, good design intent is diluted by rules, processes, or conflicting pressures. The Design Commission for Wales believes the answer is not solo working, but joined-up, cross-disciplinary collaboration in practice. As a result, Co-Create is an interactive, hands-on, collaborative event (CPD-accredited) for all built-environment professionals, both public and private sector, to break down silos, network with peers working at different scales and implementation stages, learn about behind-the-scenes placemaking processes, and actively draw out real-world design opportunities and friction points together.

Why Attend?

  • Cross-Disciplinary Networking: Join a multidisciplinary ‘Placemaking Principles’ team upon arrival and hear about regional placemaking case studies from your local network.
  • Tactile Placemaking Exchange: Work collaboratively to develop a deeper analysis of regional conditions and the existing fabric with respect to placemaking. Identify opportunities for early-stage placemaking negotiation and map out paths forward.
  • Earn Structured CPD: Every session is accredited for 3 hours of structured CPD across all major institutes (RIBA, RTPI, RICS, LI, ICE, CIHT, CIOB, CIBSE).
  • Shape Future Initiatives: Inform the development of methods for cross-sector collaboration among built environment professionals, local and Welsh governments, with DCFW and Creu Lleoedd Cymru Placemaking Wales.
