DCFW's Annual Report 2025/26
The Design Commission for Wales’ Annual Report 2025/26 reflects a year of meaningful progress, collaboration and change as we continue to champion good design and placemaking across Wales.
During the year, we supported eight local authorities to embed placemaking in their Local Development Plans, delivered 15 national design reviews, and brought together professionals and partners through 13 events and six webinars. We also celebrated the fifth anniversary of the Placemaking Wales Charter and explored the role of culture in creating vibrant, inclusive places through our national conference.
As we look ahead, our focus remains on strengthening our strategic influence, supporting better design outcomes and working with partners to create sustainable, resilient and people-centred places. Our forthcoming five-year strategy will build on this work, with a renewed emphasis on early-stage advice, collaboration, training and shared learning.
