Of the ten national parks in England and Wales, the Pembrokeshire National Park is the only one that is predominantly sea-based, hugging the rippled coast around the entire south-western section of Wales. For the vast majority of the time, the Pembrokeshire Coast Path clings precariously to clifftop routes, overlooking rocks popular with sunbathing seals, craggy offshore islands, unexpected gashes of sand and shrieking clouds of sea birds.
