There's a huge amount to see and do here, a stunning early medieval castle and a complete belt of accompanying town walls enclosing some fascinating glimpses into the past of north Wales. The town remains one of the highlights of the north coast, its setting the Conwy estuary, backed by a forested fold of Snowdonia, irresistible to painters and photographers ever since Englishman Paul Sandby published his 'Views of North Wales' in 1776.
